Become a Certified Master Home Inspector

The designation “Certified Master Home  Inspector” is now offered by Kurt Shafer as a new way to show your abilities to the world. This CMHI program is similar to that offered by NACHI.org for several years. Nick Gromicko, the founder of NACHI, created the designation “Certified Master Inspector” to enable qualified inspectors to show that they have mastered their craft. To get his Certified Master Inspector certificate you must:

  1. have completed 1,000 fee-paid inspections and/or hours of education (combined);
  2. have been in the inspection business for at least three years;
  3. agree to abide by the inspection industry’s toughest code of ethics;
  4. agree to periodic criminal background checks; and
  5. submit the application and the one-time fee of $1000.

Kurt offers you a different plan that is designed to make you really stand out. Instead of having a certificate on a page in your web site Kurt makes a custom web site for you – just like this site you are on – but with YOUR name in the title. You get – “CertifiedMasterHomeInspectorYourName.com” –  subject to these conditions:

  1. have completed 2,000 fee-paid inspections;
  2. have been in the inspection business for at least 6 years;
  3. agree to abide by the inspection industry’s toughest code of ethics;
  4. agree to a personal background check;
  5. submit proof of your inspections and a one-time fee of $500. OR, if you agree to give your buying clients names to Kurt so he can offer the best solar power systems then the fee is $200.
